Art Year 2020

1 min read

2020 has turned out to be pretty eventful and I hope everyone has kept safe.

My previous active times...gosh, before 2017, is a haze. The whole of the mid 2010s has been me battling a form of art block and mental depression that lasted years. I almost quit the pencil entirely, but in 2019 I started experimenting again. I went back to tools and mindsets from my childhood, and something small re-ignited.

2020 has been me working on this, and while I look back to the 2010 years now with a dull ache, at least it set the base for which a new outlook on my own art is now possible in 2020. Shoutouts also to Warpout for whom I worked with on Lullaby, who I hear is now happily married and has also left that period behind. I wish you the best buddy.

Coming back to posting here was me acknowledging a new chapter. You guys can also follow me on my Twitter > twitter.com/Enuryn_Nat. I've never been a Social media guy but I'm trying to be active now.

Lots of love, and thanks for reading

University is over and done with, although I think it was simply the first stage in my overall artistic learning and experimentations.

Although I am focusing on 3D graphics and computer technologies like VR in the foreseeable future, the recent success and reception of Lullaby for a Princess was very encouraging to me overall on continuing my journey with traditional and other painterly media was well.

I've grown a lot as an artist, both in what I have seen, and what I have accomplished over the past 4 years. Before Lullaby Project, I was heavily involved in MLP Online, one of the community's first ever successful RPG games, even though it got taken down by Hasbro, that spirit of wanting to make something bigger than myself caused me to seek out and involve myself with Warpout in the first place. Over in school I picked up and learnt many new soft wares I never even heard of, new ways of expressing myself in the computer, and it's been a great ride.

As such, while I have many updates planned for new paintings and revisiting old ones from years ago, I am still very open to helping out in the MLP community as time permits it. Shoot me a note for a chat, and if anything, I can always at least lend an ear and give some advice, or point you to other people.

However for the immediate future, I'll be having a good look at some of my old work, and updating them via the Paint It Again challenge.

Fostering creativity is a matter of self discipline and relationship networks. Do not be too secular about your own works, and be open to being part of a larger, more wonderful experience with others.

Cheers!

A culmination of 2 years of work, delays, redraws, worries and frustration. Starting a long term project is never easy. Starting and staying along till the end is even tougher due to the nature of its voluntary aspects. For me, my final year in University put a huge damper on overall progress, but we luckily managed to find another dedicated artist to help bring the last few acts to fruition. Warpout and I are terribly grateful for his help.

At the end of the day, such projects are doable, and when it is finally out for all to see, I hope any others with the creative soul in their hearts will take it as a reminder to what you can accomplish with enough time and effort.

Hope my watchers and anyone else who has stopped by, enjoy Lullaby ^^

Cheers!

So...it's been a damn while.

Up to my ears with final semester stuff for university. Doing stuff with game engines and VR, and really have NOT had the chance to engage in personal work. This will continue past the mid of this year...

Oh and Lullaby Project... The release date last year, for anyone who still remembered, was pushed back in favor of animation polish, and the fact that the only two artists, me and cmaggot, had real life clog us both over the head. It IS coming, I promise. Actually...you guys may be hearing about it from other sources quite soon.

I'll be lying here on the floor for awhile, don't wake me up.

School's been done with close to three weeks now! Finally getting back into my groove with Warpout on Lullaby Project.

Maybe you guys have already seen Silly Filly Studio's Fall of the Crystal Empire. Our tiny tiny team of 3, Warpout, Me, and occasional helper Cmaggot, have been working on Lullaby close to a year now. There's a reason I'm not uploading as much as I used to here. Most school stuff is on another blog, and I don't post 3D works here either. As most of Lullaby Project's backgrounds reach the final watercolor phase, I may post one or two to drum up hype.

Lullaby Project for those who do not know, is a traditionally animated take on PonyPhonics famous song: Lullaby For a Princess. We are using a traditional and watercolor based approach to the mood of the film, since we want it to stand apart from the main canon.

We are looking for: hopefully, a release after August. You heard it hear first! (*Please don't come after me warpout)
